Travel Photography
Welcome to Travel Photography!
The Backstory:
Whenever I decided I wanted to start a blog, I called up my friend Kelsey, a professional photographer from my hometown, and asked if she would come take photos of me all over New York City that I could use for my website. At the time, I had no idea if my blog would ever be successful, but I knew that if I was going to do this, I was going all in. Even if I crashed and burned, I could at least say I gave it my all…right?
Long story short, Kelsey said yes, and here we are, 3+ years later! I’m convinced having inspiring photos was part of the catalyst to me becoming a successful blogger, finding my “aesthetic travel/fashion niche,” and being able to really connect with my audience.
I love placing a lot of emphasis on photography when I travel because I feel like images, along with words, are what really inspires people to go visit places. I also take a lot of photos of myself, because it allows my readers to more closely imagine themselves in my shoes. In many ways, I tell my travel stories through my words AND photographs. Lastly, photography allows me to tie in my love for fashion and personal style – two elements that I always bring with me – and really showcase my creativity.

How To Take Smoke Bomb Halloween Photos (+ Smoking Pumpkin!)
THIS was a fun one! All you need are smoke bombs, a carved pumpkin, and a little imagination to create your spooky Halloween shots. Read how we did this here:

Of course, I can’t bring Kelsey with me everywhere I go, as much as I wish I could. That’s why there are a few posts in here about the most photo-worthy places in a city where I took all the photos myself using this tripod. Check out this post about the most Instagrammable places in Sedona as one example.
